Kelly Goulis
Associate Dean of the Office of Master's and Professional Programs
In her current position as Associate Dean for Master’s and Professional Programs (MAPP) Kelly Goulis has responsibility for all Master’s students, including recruitment, retention, student services and e-learning programs In additional, Kelly oversees all continuing education and lifelong learning programs offered by the Viterbi School including Aviation Safety.
Under her leadership as Executive Director of the Distance Education Network (DEN) from 2001 to 2006 Viterbi’s e-learning programs were ranked as one of the top engineering e-learning programs by US News and World. DEN's product portfolio tripled and graduate student enrollment growth increased more than 100%. Under Kelly's guidance, DEN has recruited students located all over the country - in over 40 states and more than 100 cities and internationally.
Kelly first came to USC in 1987 where she served as the Director of the Information Technology Program (ITP) and a senior lecturer. Under her leadership, the ITP department became the primary information technology instructional unit for the University and experienced a 65% growth enrolling over 10,000 academic units and educating more than 3,000 students. Much of the ITP’s success stemmed from efforts to build collaborative relationships with faculty throughout the university to develop cross-disciplinary courses.
Kelly has also worked closely with many USC departments to develop seminars and training programs in the area of Information Technology. They include annual information technology seminars for Executive MBA students in the International Business Education and Research MBA Department (IBEAR); 60 hour integrated media training course for the School of Engineering Retraining Master’s Degree Programs; five week multimedia certification training programs for the Integrated Media Systems Center funded by the Employment Training Panel of Los Angeles; ten week certification training programs for the Integrated Media Systems Center funded by the City of Los Angeles; curriculum development for the Multimedia University Academy of the Integrated Media Systems Center.
She has actively served on numerous committees for the University as well as serving on the “TransAtlantic Conference for Information Technology Standards Committee” for the US Department of Education.
Ms. Goulis holds both a M.S. in Education and a B.S. in Economics, from the University of Southern California.
