Our Faculty  

The USC Vitebi School of Engineering boasts outstandng faculty. Thirty of its 164 tenured or tenure-track members joined USC in the last three years.

Viterbi's Faculty Roster Includes:
  • Dr. Andrew Viterbi, for whom the school is named, holds a USC Presidential Chair and was honored with the 2007 National Medal of Science on Sept. 29, 2008.
  • 49 endowed chairs and professorships
  • 31 members of the National Academy of Engineering
  • 7 members of the National Academy of Sciences
  • 8 Members of the American Association for the Advancement of Science
  • 4 Winners of The Shannon Award
  • Over 50 winners of National Science Foundation
  • Presidential and Career Awards
  • The 2003 winner of the Association for Computing Machinery’s Turing Prize, often described as the “Nobel Prize in Computing”
  • More than a third of the faculty have been elected fellows of their respective professional societies
