Transfer Guides
For prospective transfer students attending a California Community College, we have created Viterbi Transfer Guides to assist you in selecting your pre-transfer coursework. The Transfer Guides detail the specific courses we recommend you take at your respective community college if you wish to major in engineering at USC. If you are truly interested in majoring in engineering at USC, the Transfer Guide will be the most useful document for you.
If you attend a California Community College and the Transfer Guide for your college is not included here, please check the
USC Articulation Guides, and
contact us for engineering specific courses.
Interpreting the Transfer Guides
The section of the Transfer Guide entitled "Admission Requirements" gives the general academic requirements the Viterbi School expects transfer students to have fulfilled. The section entitled "Engineering Core Courses" outlines the engineering-based courses that you should take. The Viterbi School expects students to have completed at least half of the engineering core courses before transferring. The section entitled "General Education Requirements" outlines the GE's that you should take. The Viterbi School does not require completion of GE requirements for admission, but every student must complete the writing requirement before transferring.
