How To Apply

Applying for admission to USC engineering is a simple, yet a multi-step process.  We strongly recommend all applicants submit the optional Part I application in addition to the required Part II and Viterbi Supplemental Application.  Although the Viterbi Supplemental Application is not required, we STRONGLY RECOMMEND all engineering students submit this section.  The Viterbi Supplemental Application allows the Viterbi Admission Committee to expedite the review process enabling us to issue admission decisions quickly in most cases.

When submitting your application, please be sure to include your USCID number on all your documents.  If you do not know your USCID number, please contact the USC Office of Admission at (213) 740-1111.

3/2 Applicants
If you are applying as a 3/2 Engineering Program applicant, please follow the USC Appliction procedures for Transfer Students.  USC does not have a specific application for 3/2 students.  It is strongly recommended that 3/2 Engineering students submit the VIterbi Supplemental Application and identify themselves as a 3/2 applicant.

3/2 Applicants must also submit a letter of support from their institution's 3/2 advisor to:

Application Tips

  1. If you are interested in engineering, apply directly to engineering!
  2. Apply for admission and financial aid concurrently.  Do NOT wait for an admission decision before applying for financial aid.
  3. Confirm that your application, transcripts, and financial aid documents have been received.  Please be sure that we also have your most current postal and email address and/or additional contact information.
  4. Submit your Fall term grades as soon as possible!  Engineering students are also expected to submit grades from the Winter and Spring terms as soon as they become available.
  5. Stay in touch!  Please contact us if you have any questions about the application process or the status of a submitted application.
