3+2 Engineering Program

The USC Viterbi School of Engineering has established 3+2 programs with many four-year liberal arts colleges around the country. Students in a 3+2 program earn two bachelors degrees in 5 years, one in a liberal arts field and one in engineering. Typically, students spend their first 3 years at a partner liberal arts school and then transfer to USC and spend 2 years completing their engineering program.

At USC, 3+2 applicants are considered transfer applicants. To apply to transfer as a 3+2 student you must:

Admission to USC through the 3+2 program is not guaranteed.

3+2 Applicants must also submit a letter from their institution's 3+2 advisor verifying that the applicant will satisfy all of the partner school's General Education/Core Courses prior to transfer for USC.   Letters should be sent to the following address:

USC Viterbi School of Engineering
3+2 Admission Committee
3710 S. McClintock Ave
Ronald Tutor Hall, Suite 110
Los Angeles, CA 90089-2900

If you are currently attending a USC four-year partner institution and are interested in the 3+2 Program, you should contact your current academic advisor and a USC Viterbi Transfer Counselor prior to applying to transfer.

Coursework Recommendations

Coursework requirements vary by major and partner institution.  Students interested in the 3+2 Engineering Program should consult with their current academic advisor and the USC Viterbi School of Engineering. You can review the 3+2 Program Guide to see which courses a 3+2 student should satisfy prior to transfer to USC.
