Praveen Vettiyattil(2002)

After completing my MS in Manufacturing Engineering and Entrepreneurship in 2002, I moved to India and started teaching engineering and business subjects. Right now I am a lecturer at a leading business school in India. During my spare time, I continue with my passion of inventing technologies that make the world a better place to live in. I have a patent for a power saving technology in street lighting and have also designed and prototyped a foot powered centrifugal pump that can pump water to a height of 8m at 20 liters per minute. It is called 6am-1. The next prototype, 6am-2, would be able to pump water to a height of 16 meters at 20LPM. No electricity, no fossil fuel, no operating cost, no sound, no pollution, portable and gives a great workout. Five minutes of workout in the morning can pump enough water for a person's need to the water tank above. It's as clean, green and healthy as it can get. My marketing slogan is "Don't just workout, pumpout". I have enquiries from water theme parks and the Indian Army and is in the process of redesigning it to suit customer requirements. Video of 6am-1 can be seen on http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=-405068667702480246&q=foot+powered+centrifugal+pump Praveen, MS, USC Kerala, India
