Garrett Pendergraft(2001)

After graduating from USC in 2001, I spent three years working in visual effects with Rhythm & Hues Studios I then decided to pursue a career change, and have been in graduate school for philosophy ever since. I am currently getting my PhD at UC Riverside, and hope to be out on the job market in the fall of 2009 or 2010. I was married to Amy (Congo) in 2002, and we have two children: our daughter Sage, born in September of 2005, and our son Curran, born in January of 2008. --Garrett Pendergraft http://www.linkedin.com/in/gpendergraft

William Blaine Goeckler(1956)

After graduation in 1956 I went on active duty in the Air Force. After 18 months I took an early out offer and continued the same work as a civilian employee. In 1963 I transfered to NASA at the Manned Spacecraft center, now the Johnson Spacecraft Center. I spent the remainder of my career there, working on crew training equipment development and flight planning staff work on the Apollo and Space Shuttle programs. I retired at the end of 1987. My wife, Mary, and I continue to live in Seabrook, Texas; in the same house for the past 44 years. We have a daughter and a son and 3 grandchildren. We enjoy traveling including Elderhostels, sailing, and bridge. We recently retired a motorhome in which we had spent over 800 nights. We stay busy with volunteer, church, and social activities.

Derek Yeung(1993)

I always take pride to be a part of this big Trojan family. Since my graduation from 'SC, I worked as an engineer in various positions at a number of companies. I am involved in various projects ranging from chip design to large system architecture. After 13 years of practicing electrical engineering, I shifted my interest to the practice of law, in particular, patent law. It all began with a patent seminar I attended as an engineer. It was the impetus of my pursuit of a new career as a patent lawyer. Instead of creating IP, I grew more interested on learning ways to help others to protect their IPs. After enduring four years of evening law school while working full time as an engineer, here I am, a SC trained engineer taking on a new role as a patent attorney.

Darren Shou(2000)

Worked in management for Microsoft after graduation and currently a senior manager at Symantec Research Labs in Santa Monica, CA while also serving on the boards of several organizations.

Dannes Hutapea(1988)

After graduation from USC, I began my carreer at Mobil Oil Indonesia. As a result of the Mobil Oil & Exxon merger I am now working for ExxonMobil Oil Indonesia as User Support Engineering, now in my 16th year. I married my wife, Manni Pratama, in Dec 1998; and we now have two boys, Darren and Denzel, 5 and 3 respectively. At ExxonMobil, I am very active in our Community Outreach Program. I was a volunteer on "What's After Highschool" Workshop for a local high school students of low income families, regular blood drive participant, and recently volunteering in a "Stop Bullying" one-day national seminar for teachers, parents, and junior high school students. Outside of work, I am also active in social activities. Late last year, with some friends, we held a Painting Exhibition and Acution benefiting local communities. We raised an equivalent of about US$15,000.

Jose Jimenez(1988)

I was recently promoted to Executive Director of Regulatory Affairs and Policy for Cox Communications, one of the largest providers of multi-channel video, telephone, and high-speed Internet access services in the country. In my new position, I will oversee telecommunications- and broadband-services policy for the entire company, as well as industry relations. I joined Cox in 1999, after working for the California Public Utilities Commission since my gradutation from USC. Although my career path probably is not that of a typical engineer, my USC degree has enabled me to do well in understanding how the evolution of communications technology interacts with the enactment and implementation of regulations and laws that affect that technology. I reside in Rhode Island, but I expect to relocate to Atlanta, Georgia, next year, where Cox Communications is headquartered.

Ronald (Ron) E. Hart(1983)

Ronald E. Hart (MSSM 1983) now resides in Oregon and attended the Oct. 2006 USC-OSU football game. Unfortunately, USC lost as most everyone knows. After the game, Ron, wearing his USC jacket, joined a tailgate party and was in for some good natured kidding. Ron is shown in the photo pointing to the USC logo. Alongside Ron are his wife Sally, daughter Karen, and grand daughter Danielle. It turns out Danielle (age 6) is an avid OSU fan!

Carlos Garcia(1998)

I married Jacqueline Hernandez Garcia, who also attended USC, on April 29, 1997. Since then I've had my first son on April 21, 2004. We named him Carlos Jose Garcia, III. I just bought a brand new house in Oceanside, CA. I've being working at Richmond American Homes, Inc. in San Marcos, CA. since October 2004 but have been working in the building industry since 1998 for various top ten companies in the nation.
