Sanjit Mitra Elected a Fellow of Indian National Academy  

November 20, 2006 — Sanjit K. Mitra of the USC Viterbi School’s Ming Hsieh Department of Electrical Engineering and its Signal and Image Processing Institute (SIPI) was elected a Foreign Fellow of the Indian National Academy of Engineering (INAE) for his contributions to signal processing.

INAE’s objective is to promote and advance the practice of engineering and technology, related sciences, and their applications to problems of national importance. INAE honors Indian and foreign nationals whose personal achievements in engineering are of exceptional merit and distinctive eminence.

Among his numerous honors, Mitra is also a member of the National Academy of Engineering of the United States.
