University Wide Funding


Before seeking funding from the Viterbi School, we recommend that student organizations first seek funding from University-wide funding sources.

Funding Sources:

Academic Research Fund

All USC undergraduates conducting research in any field are welcome and encouraged to apply for funding from the Academic Research Fund. Funding will be provided to help undergraduates conduct research projects, attend academic conferences and pursue other academic extracurricular activities.

Discretionary Fund
The discretionary fund provides funding for campus organizations and events to supplement the groups’ purpose and membership activities.

Leadership Fund
The leadership fund provides funding to student organizations promoting leadership development.

P.A.L.M.
P
urchases At the Last Minute Funding Resource provides recognized student organizations a funding source for last minute event costs or to help with the production costs of smaller events. Additionally, this funding source has a short deadline to apply.

Philanthropy Fund
The philanthropy fundprovides funds for organizations to do community service and outreach.

Program Board Co-sponsorships
The 9 assemblies and 4 committees that are part of Program Board are available to co-sponsor events with student organizations. Program Board can provide funding, publicity, and/or manual support for co-sponsored events.

Start-up Fund
The Discretionary Board Start-up Fund provides funding for all newly recognized organizations. Groups are allowed a maximum of $400 in start-up funds for the academic year in which they are recognized, in addition to their $2500 maximum allotment per semester.
