Academic Probation / Disqualification

A student is placed on academic probation if his or her cumulative GPA falls below 2.0.  The Academic Review website describes the policies surrounding academic probation, disqualification, and readmission to the University in detail.

Students on academic probation must follow these additional steps to register for classes:
  1. Get an Academic Review Advisement Record form.
These are available in RTH 110 or JHH 113.
  2. Receive advisement from your departmental advisor.
Your departmental advisor must fill out and sign the Academic Review Advisement Record.
  3. Make an appointment with one of the academic advisors in Engineering Admission and Student Affairs to finalize a schedule.
Bring the Academic Review Advisement Record to your appointment.
The advisor will sign off as the “Authorized School Signature.”
  4. Pick up a Permit to Register from the Registration building (REG).
  5. Fill out the Permit to Register with the schedule that was agreed upon and listed on the Academic Review Advisement Record.
  6. Take the Permit to Register and Academic Review Advisement Record to the Academic Review Department, JHH 113.
  7. After receiving approval to register from Academic Review, go to the Registration building to register in-person.
