Pre-College Special Programs

 
Teacher Training
We offer professional development in science for schools and teachers. Some of the programs are:
  • JPL/USC Science Education Collaborative - The collaborative which provides hands-on teacher training in science on USC's campus and at school sites of the USC Family of Schools
  • Hands-On Optics - This training program trains teachers to teach light and optics concepts to middle school students.
  • Math Physics Technology Institute - Teachers learn to integrate classroom and hands-on math and physics activities with Texas Instruments Calculators
 
Robotics
We provide training and instruction for schools wishing to incorporate robotics into their curriculum through: 
 
Competitions
We are a host site and supporter of several major academic competitions, including: FIRST Robotics, JETS-TEAMS, and the JPL-Invention Challenge to name a few.
 
Science Curriculum and Activities Resource Center
We are a source for science curriculum, program development and activities for numerous organizations such as:
  • Johns Hopkins Center for Talented Youth
  • USC National Youth Sports Program
  • Society of Women Engineers/Girls Scouts Badge Day Committee 
  • Engineering Student Organizations
  • Chadwick School
  • St. Agnes School
  • National Football League
  • Other schools and organization
