Degree Requirements
Your degree is made up of a variety of different components, which are outlined below. Keep in mind that this information highlights requirements that all engineers have in common; you will need to make sure you also fully understand the specific requirements that apply to your particular degree program.
University Requirements
There are three different sets of University requirements you must fulfill to earn a degree at USC:
Subject Requirements
Unit Requirements
GPA Requirements
Completing the required course subjects (like math, physics, engineering classes, etc.)
Completing the number of units required for a degree (at least 128 for every degree from USC, but may be more for specific degree programs)
Maintaining the required GPA (2.0 in your major and overall, and some majors also have additional GPA requirements)
USC Core Requirements - Education for Life
USC's Core is the hallmark of a USC education and the common bond between you and all other USC undergraduates. The Core consists of courses in General Education, Writing, and Diversity. Together they provide a coherent approach to the skills you will need to become a generally well educated person, an informed and productive citizen.
