Viterbi Resources
First Year Advising
Your advisors will work with you beginning at Orientation and through the end of the spring semester of freshmen year.
They can assist you in understanding the various options in engineering majors and programs as well as degree requirements and university policies and procedures.

Viterbi Academic Resource Center (VARC)
VARC houses the Peer Tutoring & Supplemental Instruction (SI) Programs as well as consultants from the Engineering Writing Center. In collaboration with the Office of Academic Services, VARC also offers an Academic Workshop Series, covering topics ranging from time management to networking with faculty and industry professionals.
Academic Success Workshop Series
Especially for freshmen, these workshops cover topics you may find useful during your first year here at Viterbi such as how to complete a minor and how to transfer summer school credit.
Viterbi Career Services (VCS)
It's never too early to begin thinking about your future! Viterbi Career Services (VCS) is here to support you as you think about career options for the future. They can help you with resume writing, developing networking skills and give you helpful interview tips. They have a variety of programs for all Viterbi students...check out their website for a complete calendar and more information on all of their programs and resources. Freshmen students are encouraged to attend the Engineering Career Conference in early fall and workshops specifically geared for freshmen.

USC Supplemental Instruction (SI)
Supplemental Instruction (SI) is an academic program designed to improve the student's academic and increase retention. SI targets traditionally difficult courses and provides regularly scheduled, peer-led study sessions. These sessions are available to all students enrolled in the class at no cost.
USC Center for Academic Support
The Center for Academic Support contributes a collaborative approach to learning within the academic community. They offer learning assistance and tutoring in various subjects for USC students at selected locations on campus. Academic success seminars and workshops are also scheduled throughout the academic year.
