Technology Advancement Program (TAP)

2006-2007 Academic Year

The Viterbi School’s Engineering Writing Program and the Alexander Science Center School were awarded a USC University Neighborhood Outreach grant to fund the Technology Advancement Program (TAP). The purpose of this project was to upgrade the student computer lab at the Alexander School, to train faculty and parents of students in computer use and software applications, and to form and train a technical team comprised of student volunteers who would assist in troubleshooting hardware and software problems on the Alexander School campus. Our engineering students assisted in the overall goal of the project which was to narrow the digital divide by providing a technology integration plan that will serve to digitally empower the students, faculty and parents.
