Application and Admission Requirements
  1. Students must complete a Progressive Degree Program – Proposed Course Plan form as part of the application process. This is necessary to determine how future terms of registration will apply to progressive degree requirements. Students will list remaining course work necessary for completion of undergraduate degree requirements. The Proposed Course Plan must also include all graduate work required for completion of the requirements for the Master’s program and must total at least 2/3 of the units required for the Master’s degree at the 500-level or above.
  2. Students must complete all necessary sections on the Application for Admission to a Progressive Master’s Program form. Admission is granted by the Associate Dean for Admission in the Viterbi School and will only be granted after the proposed course plan has been determined to meet all requirements for graduation by the student’s undergraduate major department, and by the department for the master’s degree program or the Viterbi Office of Master’s and Professional Programs. Signatures must be present on the Proposed Course Plan.
  3. Full admission to a Progressive Master’s Degree is granted in two stages: A student is not fully admitted without both: 1) Approval for Admission, and 2) Approval and activation of the graduate POST by the university.
    1. Approval for Admission is granted by the Associate Dean for Admission in the Viterbi School.
    2. Approval and activation of the graduate POST is granted by the USC Degree Progress Department.
    3. Approval for admission does not guarantee the final approval and activation of the POST. In the unlikely event that this occurs and the course plan can be corrected, the student will be given an opportunity to correct and resubmit the plan for approval.

Final Spring Application Deadline:
May 14, 2008
