Hometown: Peoria, AZ
High School: Sunrise Mountain High School
What made you decide to attend USC: I knew I wanted to go to a school in California. I love the warm weather and the beaches. I also wanted a school with a good engineering program. After coming to Explore USC I could totally picture myself attending USC. It’s the perfect size for me. USC had all of the benefits of a big school without making me feel like I was just a number. I also really loved the emphasis on the “Trojan Family”.
Best experience/interaction with a professor: Doing homework in Professor Bicker’s office. He was wiling to stay until late at night to help us with our homework. It was nice to know he really cared about our success. There were times when we fit 15 students in his office until 12am before a homework assignment was due.
Favorite Class: MATH 245 (Differential Equations) with Professor Sakai
Involvements/extracurricular activities: ATPS, AICHE, lab research, Center For Engineering Diversity, Cardinal Gardens Building Government (’09-’10)
Favorite on-campus event: CONQUEST- there’s free food, live music, and all kinds of excitement
Best off-campus experience: Going to the weekender at UC Berkeley my sophomore year
Favorite memory from freshman year: Everything about dorm-life! Staying up late making lifelong friendships.
What you like about being in LA: the food!!, the diversity, the beaches, and the beautiful sunshine
