Hometown: San Diego, CA

High School: Fallbrook High School

What made you decide to attend USC: From the very first time I stepped on USC's campus I knew this is where I wanted to go. The atmosphere, the ambiance, and the overall vitality of USC made my decision to come here very easy. The pride of becoming a USC Trojan was something that I could not pass on. Coming to USC will probably be one of the best decisions I will make in my lifetime.

Best experience/interaction with a professor: My best experience has been with Professor Redekopp. He is a Computer Engineering and Computer Science professor. I took his EE 106 and EE 357 class. However, I have come to him for other classes as well. The best part of forming a relationship with your professor is that they love to help their students even if he/she is not your professor at that point in time. There were numerous times my freshman year where I went to his office hours for another EE class that I was taking where he was not my professor. On top of him being one of the most helpful professors in the classroom, I see him around the Lyon Center on occasion playing basketball with students.

Favorite Class: My favorite class so far has to be my EE 202 class; Linear Circuits. I am currently enrolled in this course this fall semester. In the class we have learned basics about circuitry and have used the knowledge we gained to actually build and analyze these circuits during class and lab time. The subject is very interesting and I feel as though I finally might have found my niche in electrical engineering.

Involvements/extracurricular activities: I have been involved with a lot of different organizations around the engineering school. I was a member of the Viterbi Student Council's Funding Board my freshman and sophomore year. Currently I am the Treasurer for the Institute of Electronic and Electrical Engineers, a Freshman Academy Coach, and a Viterbi Student Ambassador. I also love playing competitive sports whenever I get the chance. I play pickup football and basketball with my friends whenever possible and am a constant attendee at the gym.

Favorite on-campus event: Most definitely every home Trojan football Saturday!!

Best off-campus experience: Waking up early and going to Dim-Sum on a Sunday morning and feasting on some amazing Chinese cuisine.

Favorite memory from freshman year: My friends and I would go over to Cromwell Field most Thursday and Friday nights and play football from 10 P.M. until security turned the lights off. We would round up 10-14 guys and girls and just play football and run around the field for a few hours to blow off some steam.

What you like about being in LA: Everything is so close here. There is so much to do it is ridiculous. You can never possibly be bored. Downtown is 5 minutes away, Hollywood is 20 minutes away, the beach is 15 minutes away and this is only if you get bored with all the activities there are to do on campus. Trust me, you will not be bored. This is LA after all.

Hobbies/interests: I am a huge sports junkie. I am from San Diego so I have to represent my two teams from down south: the Padres and the Chargers. I am also a huge Lakers fan. So basically I will watch anything sports related. I am also a pretty consistent nerd, so I will definitely be seen playing video games from time to time with my roommates. Other than that, I am really into working out and exercising multiple times a week. All my extracurricular activities along with classes and my hobbies keep me very busy on a constant basis. But truthfully, I would not have it any other way.
