    VASE Office and VGSA are hosting a Family Feud series with CS Department on 04/02 (Friday, 3:30PM PST)! The first round will be department games of students vs. faculty/staff. To join a team, sign up at this link. The teams be will created at as a FIRST COME FIRST SERVE basis. If your department team is filled before your sign up, don't fret! Join us as an audience member! Otherwise, more games are to come in April!

    This event is hosted by the USC Entertainment Technology Center and CS students are encouraged to attend.

    The -Executive Coffee with- program at the USC Entertainment Technology Center connects USC students interested in media and entertainment issues with media & entertainment industry executives.

    It is a win-win. The students have a structured low-pressure discussion with a senior industry executive. The executive explores the perspective and ideas of students with an interest in a topic that they care about.

What would be the pros and cons of adding virtual beings, objects, and information to the world around you? What ideas do you have for gamifying everyday activities? How will immersive experiences change culture or behavioral patterns.

This year, we're working with three nonprofits: Affordable South LA, Humans Against Trafficking, and ImagineLA. Our members have worked tirelessly on these projects, and we would appreciate if you could join us to learn more about the projects and the nonprofits behind them.

  • CAIS++ Spring 2021 Projects Showcase

    We are CAIS++, the undergraduate branch of USC's Center for Artificial Intelligence in Society (CAIS). Our mission is to advance AI for Social Good, and our group of 150+ students has worked with professors, startups, and community organizations to develop cutting-edge AI solutions for societal problems.

    We're inviting you to our Spring 2021 Projects Showcase on Thursday, April 22 from 6:00-7:00 pm on Zoom (link below). Our student teams will be presenting the AI projects that they have worked on this semester.

    Projects from this semester include developing machine learning approaches for
    Estimating the pandemic risk potential of a virus from genome sequences
    Tracing knowledge concept acquisition for personalized education
    Diagnosing early-onset dementia from speech patterns
    Implementing embedded computer vision algorithms
    Predicting the spread of forest fires

    We will be recruiting a new cohort of undergraduates in Fall 2021, so coming to our showcase is a great way to learn about CAIS++ and see the type of work we do!
