Biography:

Mr. Buniatyan is an adjunct part time professor at the USC Viterbi School of Information Technology program.
His involvement in technology stemmed from early childhood years, starting from building electonic radio kits to eventually teaching himself to program in C/C++ which led to exploring many areas surrounding computer science and peer to peer computing. Professionally, Mr. Buniatyan has managed many product development projects ranging from bare conception to enterprise product launch in both the hardware and mobile technology fields.

During the early stages of the internet, Mr. Buniatyan created a HIPPA compliant web-based application that dealt with vast amount of data generation while integrating backend services. LABDAT handled secure patient medical records for enterprise medical laboratories.

As an avid technologist, Mr. Buniatyan quickly realized where the mobile industry was headed. He seeked to solve a multi-device and platform problem; Backing up and transferring data between handsets of different makes and models. “Backup Pal” went on to become one of the year’s most coveted mobile accessories to own and was eventually licensed under the “Dummies” brand name.

With the emergence of iOS/Android platforms and mobile apps, Mr. Buniatyan, transitioned into the field of mobile software development. Starting with an open source project called Native Table, which enabled users to create and display data from Javascript utilizing a native UITableView interface in iOS PhoneGap based applications. Mr. Buniatyan next ventured into the world of social, with Pixity and Closer apps, which enables picture and video creation, editing, sharing and cloud storage among its user base.

Professionally, Mr. Buniatyan has enjoyed many career defining roles in blue chip organizations, including AT&T/DirectTV and Medtronic (MiniMed), where he has led large (125+) mobile technology development teams.
