USC women students were on hand in numbers Feb. 23 for lunch and networking at the Millennium Biltmore Hotel as part of the Los Angeles Chapter of the Women in Transportation.
Some of the students were sponsored by the Port of Long Beach (POLB); others by the
AECOM technology corporation.The speaker, Doug Failing, recently transitioned from his job as director of Caltrans District 7 (LA and Ventura Counties) to the LA County Metropolitan Transportation Authority to take over as Executive Director of the Highway Program and Interim Chief Planning Officer

Amanda Tanaka and Susan Mukai, two students from the Viterbi School MSCE classes taught by Port of Long Beach transportation director Eric Shen, were POLB guests.
AECOM consistently sponsors student tables at WTS-LA events, and in addition periodically hosts USC students for information sessions on site at their Los Angeles Headquarters. For this event, it sponsored two tables.
