WHAT: Memorial service for USC graduate students Ying Wu and Ming Qu

WHO: Student leaders representing Chinese and international student groups, friends of Ying Wu and Ming Qu, USC President C. L. Max Nikias, USC Viterbi School of Engineering Dean Yannis Yortsos, USC Dean of Religious Life Varun Soni and officials from the Chinese Consulate.

WHEN: Wednesday, April 18, at 4:00 p.m. for pool assignments. Due to the short notice for this memorial service, pool assignments will be made on location. Any members of the media wishing to serve in a pool are asked to meet media relations representatives from USC and LAPD in front of the box office of the Shrine Auditorium at 4:00 p.m.

The memorial service begins at 6:00 p.m.

WHERE: The Shrine Auditorium, 700 W. 32nd St., Los Angeles

RESTRICTIONS:

• Coverage of the memorial service to be provided ONLY by live pool video feed, one pool radio reporter, two pool still photographers (English and Chinese), and two pool print media (English and Chinese). The live pool video will be provided by USC Cultural Relations and University Events.

• No other members of the media will be allowed into the memorial service.

• Parking for news vans using the pool video is available in front of the auditorium. Enter at Royal Avenue and 32nd Street.

• USC appreciates the media’s discretion and tact as the students’ families and the entire Trojan Family mourn their passing and pay tribute to their lives.
