WHAT: USC students to show high school students how exciting science and engineering can be with an array of hands-on demonstrations

WHO: David Campbell, John Cardinal O’Hara, C.S.C. Associate Professor of Political Science University of Notre Dame

WHEN: Friday, February 24, from 9:45 a.m. to 11:20 p.m.

WHERE: Engineering Quad on USC’s University Park campus

WHY: After a week of exciting student-planned activities, USC’s National Engineers Week celebration will close with USC Viterbi engineering students hosting several hundred local high school students on campus for “Cisco Presents: Discover Engineering.” 

In the late morning, USC student engineers will lead the high schoolers through various hands-on activities, including building mousetrap racecars and catapults, in an effort to get them excited about science and engineering. 

National Engineers Week, or E-Week, is an annual event celebrated across the country to bring attention to engineers’ ongoing contributions to society and to promote engineering education.
