US News & World Report has released this year's Best Graduate Schools Rankings, ranking the USC Viterbi School of Engineering in the top ten engineering schools in North America and No. 1 in Best Online Graduate Engineering Programs. The University of Southern California also ranked No. 1 in Best Online Graduate Computer Information Technology Programs. US News rankings are based on a variety of factors according to discipline, including admissions selectivity, reputational surveys of deans and other academic officials, and statistical indicators regarding the quality of faculty.
USC was also named the No. 1 game design school in North America by The Princeton Review, a ranking shared by the Interactive Media and Games Division at the USC School of Cinematic Arts (SCA) and USC Viterbi's Department of Computer Science. USC’s undergraduate program was ranked No. 2. The Princeton Review evaluates programs at institutions offering game design coursework and/or degrees. The rankings are based on factors including quality of curriculum, faculty credentials, facilities and career opportunities.
