Bo Jin receives the “Award for Excellence in Teaching”

Bo Jin, a teaching assistant in the Department of Aerospace and Mechanical Engineering, was awarded the “Award for Excellence in Teaching” by the USC Office of the Provost for consistent excellence in the classroom.

February 18, 2014 —

Bo Jin, a 3rd year Ph.D. student advised by professor Steven Nutt, Director of USC M.C.Gill Composites Center, was awarded the USC “Award for Excellence in Teaching”. The award was presented in a reception at the University Club by USC Executive Vice Provost professor Michael Quick and Director of USC Center for Excellence in Teaching (CET) professor Edward Finegan. This is the second time Bo has taken home this prestigious award.

The USC “Award for Excellence in Teaching” is awarded to graduate teaching assistants who exhibit consistent excellence in the classroom and symbolize the university’s dedication to the education of scholar-teachers. The award recognizes exceptional contributions by teaching assistants to the missions of the university. It is the highest honor USC bestows on its TAs for outstanding teaching work to emphasize the University's recognition of the significant role that teaching plays in its mission.
