On this episode of Popcorn and Jetpacks, we sit down for a conversation with Professor Andrea Armani. Her research spans the fields of chemical engineering, materials science, electrical engineering, biomedical engineering and chemistry. She creates and improves instruments that use optics to explore biological systems. She’s been named one of the Brilliant 10 by PopSci, and in 2009 was one of the MIT Technology Review’s top 35 innovators under 35. In short, she’s a science and engineering superstar.

Listen to find out why Armani didn’t wind up being an astronaut, where she likes to vacation, and what she would research if she had unlimited funding.
