Today U.S. News & World Report released its annual list of the Best Online Graduate Computer Information Technology (CIT) Programs in North America, ranking the USC Viterbi School of Engineering’s Online Computer Science Programs No. 1 for the third year in a row. USC Viterbi’s 40+ other online graduate engineering programs were collectively ranked third. This marks the third year in a row that U.S. News has ranked USC Viterbi’s online engineering program in its top-five rankings. The programs are delivered via DEN@Viterbi, USC Viterbi’s online delivery model.

“We are thrilled that USC Viterbi continues to be recognized as a leader in online graduate professional education,” said Kelly Goulis, Senior Associate Dean of USC Viterbi Graduate and Professional Programs. “Our advanced delivery system allows working professionals worldwide access to the same world-class education that full-time, on-campus students receive.”

DEN@Viterbi, one of the first of its kind, was established in 1972 and has grown to be an online platform that allows remote access to more than 40 USC Viterbi engineering master’s degree programs, graduate certificates and professional courses. The DEN (Distance Education Network) platform allows students, such as full-time professionals as well as active-duty military personnel located abroad and within the United States, to remotely access the full slate of all of USC Viterbi’s top-ranked engineering programs both synchronously and asynchronously. It provides a unique blended classroom model that integrates on- and off-campus students via custom studio classrooms located on the USC campus. Notably, DEN@Viterbi coursework is identical to that for on-campus USC Viterbi students, delivered by the same top faculty and subject to identical high admissions and performance standards as for on-campus students.

U.S. News rankings are based on a variety of factors including: admissions selectivity, reputational surveys of deans and other academic officials, faculty credentials and training, student engagement, and student services and technology.
