Remote Desktop

NOTE: You must connect to the USC network via VPN before attempting Remote Desktop or you will not be able to connect.  For more information, please visit USC Information Technology Service's VPN page: http://www.usc.edu/its/vpn/.

For security purposes, your Viterbi IT managed office computer does not accept remote desktop connection by default.  If remote desktop connection to your office computer is necessary, please consult with Viterbi IT Service Desk by submitting a request on http://viterbi.usc.edu/servicedesk or via email to engrhelp@usc.edu for set up.

Once your office computer is set up to accept authorized remote desktop connection, you will be provided with your office computer host name AND IP address.

From a remote Windows Vista or Windows 7 computer,

1. Go to the Start menu >> All Programs >> Remote Desktop Connection
 


2. A window will appear.  Enter your computer name or IP address.



3. Login as you would at work.


From a remote 
Windows 10 computer, 

1. In the Windows search bar, type in "remote". Open Remote Desktop Connection.

2. A window will appear.  Enter your computer name or IP address.

3. Login as you would at work.
