Meeting at the Lyon Center at 10 AM, we will drive over to begin our adventure, looking to get back at 12 PM or 1 PM.   • ASBME 18th Annual Corporate Dinner

    ASBME is excited to host the 18th Annual Corporate Dinner on February 6th, 2014 in the Radisson at USC! Event check-in will begin at 5:30 pm and dinner will be served promptly at 6 pm. Dr. John Capek, Executive Vice President of Medical Devices at Abbott Laboratories, will be our keynote speaker. Dinner will be followed by a meet and mingle session with USC professors and corporate representatives from companies like Medtronic, Baxter Healthcare, and Edwards LifeSciences. We will wrap up around 8:30 pm.


    Dress code is strictly business formal.


    To reserve your seat at this event, please ensure that you do the following after your RSVP:
    1. Turn in a waiver to DRB 140 by 5 pm on Friday, January 31st. Copies will be available at the desk of DRB 140.
    2. Submit your $20 refundable deposit (cash or check made out to ASBME) attached to the above form to DRB 140 by 5pm on Friday, January 31st. This deposit will be returned to you upon check in at the event.
    3. If you would like to be included in the resume CD given to corporate representatives, send a PDF copy of your resume to asbme.corporate@gmail.com by Friday, January 31st. The file title must be formatted to LastName_FirstName_Degree_ClassStanding.pdf (for example, Trojan_Tommy_Biomedical Engineering_Senior.pdf). In the subject line please write “Resume - [Last Name], [First Name], [Class Standing]”. If your resume is not sent in the correct format, it will not be included on the CD.

    The Quiz Bowl will be held on Tuesday, February 17th from 6:30pm-9:00pm. There will be 8 teams of four competing in a tournament style competition. Sign up as a team or as an individual! They'll also be FREE pizza for participants and sweet prizes for the 1st and 2nd place teams!

    Teams will receive robotic, walking pigs and have one week to modify it to be the best racer/obstacle course athlete! Teams may make any enhancements they would like, but they cannot replace the motor, and all the original parts must be present in some form.

    Do you think you have what it takes to win it in a minute?
    Participate in USC’s E-Week Minute to Win It games!

    The Minute to Win it games will include a series difficult mini games where you will have only one minute to complete.

    During the Minute to Win it Tournament one member of each team will play one game at a time and teams will be eliminated after each round of games depending on how well or fast the game was completed until there is one winning team that will win a special E-Week Prize!

    In addition, there will be teams of engineering professors that will be competing as well, so even if you don’t want to participate come out and either support your professors and fellow classmates or watch them make a fool of themselves!

    We’ll see you on February 20th at 4pm in SGM 123.
    Free food will be provided to engineering students, and faculty!

    DiscoverE is a day where students from the community around USC come to Viterbi and learn about engineering and other skills to apply to and survive in college. The main event is a series of engineering design competition such as a water well and bridge. Volunteers can be expected to offer engineering advice to students, guide students from location to location, and allocate materials and give instructions to the students.
