Come join Engineers Without Borders in Honduras this Spring break!
In La Estanzuela (LE), we are currently in the midst of constructing a water wheel pump delivery system to provide drinkable water to many of the families in the community.
Anyone can apply to travel so get those applications in! Don't worry if you haven't been very involved as of yet - it could be that your specific skills/background are exactly what we need to come up with a well-rounded and cohesive team. Even if you are not selected for this trip, submitting your application is a great way to get your name noticed and will definitely increase your chances of traveling next time!
If you are interested in traveling to LE this March, please fill out the LE Travel Application (attached to this event)! Make sure to email it to ewb.usc.projectmanager2@gmail.com by Sunday, February 5, 11:59pm!

Come join Engineers Without Borders in Honduras this Spring break!
In Corral de Piedras (CDP), we are building a rainwater catchment system on a schoolhouse for the kids to drink water during school, with plans on expanding the system further.
Anyone can apply to travel so get those applications in! Don't worry if you haven't been very involved as of yet - it could be that your specific skills/background are exactly what we need to come up with a well-rounded and cohesive team. Even if you are not selected for this trip, submitting your application is a great way to get your name noticed and will definitely increase your chances of traveling next time!

Come network with representatives from different BME companies, hear what the USC graduates have to say about their experiences in the BME industry, and listen to a keynote speaker (Dr. Bob Shannon from the House Research Institute) talk about his work in the BME industry. Since only a few BME companies are represented at career fairs, this is the prime opportunity for you to learn about other local and national, established and start-up biomed/biotech companies, and the opportunities they have to offer you. Representatives from over 20 companies attended last year's ASBME Corporate Event.
Come out and talk to your fellow students, to BME department faculty and staff, and to corporate representatives while enjoying a delicious free dinner. Whatâs more, there will be raffle prizes donated by different companies. Join us Wednesday, February 15th from 6-8 pm for BRIGHTIDEAS 2012, an interactive research presentation competition. No preparation or research experience required just an adventurous, competitive spirit.
Upon check in at 6 pm, youâll grab your free dinner, be assigned a group, and given a research topic. You and your group will have 1 hour to create a Powerpoint presentation. Youâll present to a small panel of judges and the winning group will be announced at Viterbi E-Week Kick Off Carnival sponsored by Cisco on the E-quad from 1-3 pm on Tuesday, February 21st, 2012.

It will be a night to remember full of engineers showing off their non-technical skill sets. Be it amazing pianists to entertaining comedy acts, there will be something for everyone! While the acts perform, SWE's Annual Charity Date Auction will be occurring "silently" in the back. Each auctionee will have a display where bidders can circulate and place their bid, at the end of the night the top bidder gets TWO TICKETS to the Viterbi Ball for themselves and their prized date! All proceeds from the auction will go to a Battered Women's Shelter.

From finance to industry to grad school to medical school we will be opening up the floor to you to ask our panelists practically anything you would like to know about BME. This is a fantastic time to see successful BME alumni talk about their undergraduate experience and what exactly they got from it.
