The CleanWeb Hackathon will be coming to Los Angeles for the first time starting
Friday Nov. 16th!
CleanWeb Hackathons are weekend programming competitions taking place in major
cities around the globe. Entire communities of developers:
students, professionals, and hobbyists, come together over a weekend to make
web, mobile, and social apps that improve the sustainability of energy, air, and
water systems in their community and in the world.
LA's 2012 CleanWeb Hackathon will be hosted at the USC Campus Center Forum Nov.
16-18.

7th GM: Holiday Celebration

We all love the holiday season with hot chocolate, Christmas music, gifts and games. Why not come to SWEâs 7th GM: Holiday Celebration! This event is the last SWE event of fall semester! Since we are going to miss you so much, we have decided to hand out some care packages to our lovely ladies, which include Hubertâs lemonade, SWE pens and mirrors. WOW FREE STUFF! This means that you should stop by and share the joy of holidays with your SWEsters!
The theme for this event is winter time, and everyone is expected to wear sweaters, hats, scarves or ear muffs.
Since we are going to play white elephant, please buy a cheap gift for around $5 and bring it to the event.

Day at the Museum 2

Student Activity
Day at the Museum is a SHPE-USC annual event where we bring elementary school students to the California Center for a tour. After having lunch with them, we provide the visiting students a brief tour of campus, after which we have Q&A session about college and STEM fields as a whole.
Our first Day at the Museum was a huge success with 135 children, 95% of which were minorities, enjoyed a fun-filled day of activities. So come and join us for round two where we plan on bringing another 60 middle-schoolers to show them how exciting the STEM field can be!
