Long Beach, CAAbstractOne of the most valuable attributes of hydrogen is that it can be produced by a myriad of production pathways, i.e., hydrogen can be produced from such pathways as natural gas steam reformation, electrolysis and biomass, and can then either be used on-site or distributed to other locations. While all production pathways provide energy diversity benefits, there are differences in the greenhouse gas (GHG) criteria, and toxic pollutant emissions and differences in the amount of petroleum displaced for each pathway.To ensure that the CA H2 Net results in environmental benefits spanning all pollutants the Societal Benefits Topic Team recommended the following goals for the CA H2 Net. These goals are based on Scenarios A, B, and C as described in the Blueprint Plan:1.
