Science Diplomacy and the Prevention of Conflict

Scientists and engineers including Viterbi School Dean Yannis C. Yortsos will join diplomats and policy experts to discuss the role of their profession in international relations -- past, present and future.The conference will feature presentations on a wide range of such interactions, according to Yortsos, who will chair a panel on "Science, Development, and Security."The United States Institute of Peace and its Center of Innovation for Science, Technology and Peacebuilding is co-sponsoring the conference.Schedule is at http://uscpublicdiplomacy.com/index.php/events/events_detail/8763/The conference is open to the public, but seating is limited.
