Biography


Katherine Brichacek is a Lecturer in the Engineering in Society Program. She received her PhD from Loyola University Chicago in philosophy, with a special emphasis on social and political philosophy and ethics.

Prior to joining USC, Dr. Brichacek taught at Harold Washington College, Loyola University Chicago, and Northwestern University. Since starting her teaching career in 2012, she has since taught over 25 courses in philosophy, the humanities, writing, and engineering communication at the undergraduate and graduate level. In addition to teaching as instructor of record, Dr. Brichacek has worked in writing centers at DePaul University, Ashoka University, and The University of Chicago.

Her research applies feminist and decolonial ethics and social philosophy to engineering education and writing pedagogy. She is also a contributing author to the forthcoming 5th edition textbook, Business Communication: Polishing Your Professional Presence through Pearson.
