Part-Time Lecturer of Chemical Engineering and Materials Science
Failure Analysis of steel, aluminum, titanium alloys, polymers, composites, ceramics, elastomers. Scanning electron microscopy, energy dispersive x-ray spectroscopy, micro-raman spectroscopy, fourier transform infrared spectroscopy. 2D Digital X-ray radiography, 3D X-ray Computed Tomography. FEA Stress Analysis.
As a principal engineer at Kars’ Advanced Materials (www.karslab.com) Nikhil’s focus is on mechanical behavior and equipment function to determine cause(s) of premature failure. His background in mechanical engineering and materials science has allowed him to become involved in various litigation matters including medical malpractice cases (medical implant failures), product liability, slip and falls and automotive accident component failures. He has a number of publications related to fatigue, fracture and failure analysis of composite materials, polymers, metals and alloys. He has developed review course material for the Metallurgy and Materials PE (Professional Engineer) Exam, (www.kars-academy.com).
