Biography
Prof. Madhyastha is a Professor who co-leads the Networked Systems Lab. Previously, he held faculty positions at the University of Michigan and at UC Riverside. He received a PhD in Computer Science from the University of Washington and a B.Tech. in Computer Science from the Indian Institute of Technology, Madras.
His research has received the IRTF’s Applied Networking Research Prize twice and led to award papers at OSDI, NSDI, IMC, and IEEE CNS. He has also received multiple Google Faculty Research awards, a NetApp Faculty Fellowship, a Facebook Faculty Award, and an NSF CAREER award.
At the University of Michigan, he was a recipient of the College of Engineering’s Neil Van Eenam Memorial Undergraduate Teaching Award.
Research Summary
Prof. Madhyastha's research is broadly in the areas of distributed systems, networking, and privacy. In recent years, his research has focused specifically on problems related to cloud computing and the web.
