Biography


Dr. Maryam Pishgar is a Data Analytics Professor of Industrial and Systems Engineering at the University of Southern California. She is teaching courses such as Predictive Analytics, Data Analytics Consulting, Text Analytics, Data Mining, and Optimization Methods for Analytics to graduate students. Maryam received her B.S, M.S and Ph.D. degrees in Industrial Engineering and Operation Research with a concentration on Artificial Intelligence, Process Mining, and Deep Learning at the University of Illinois at Chicago (UIC).

She is also the Founder of Solix Data Driven Business Solution company where she solves problems through Data Analytics and strives to help businesses reach the next level by analyzing their data. Prior to joining USC, she was a postdoctoral research fellow in the Department of Biomedical Engineering at the University of California, Irvine. She is also a member of the American Society of Safety Professionals (ASSP).

Research Summary


My research interest is in Data Driven Decision Making (3DM) with different applications, specifically in healthcare. My students and I are passionate about applying process mining, machine learning and deep learning models to predict critical health outcomes by analyzing both tabular and text data. We also use diffusion and GAN models to generate deep-fake and accurate MRI images.
