http://stevens.usc.edu/student_app_form.phpWHAT IS INNOVATION?
Innovation is the process of translating new ideas into tangible societal impact.
Innovation and Imagination go hand in hand. True innovation is taking an imaginative idea and turning it into something that changes our world. Changes the way we live and work and think, and impacts our lives in the most fundamental way. Student innovation at USC includes advancements in every discipline, from cinematic arts, music and social sciences, to information technology, engineering and life sciences. WHO SHOULD APPLY?
If you are a student innovator and have a research project you would like to present, we want to hear from you! (Teams are encouraged to apply.) Students may present work in a variety of ways, such as through poster/panels, art exhibits, and electronic media. We are eager to include innovations that exemplify the following:
Innovation in ALL disciplines, including the arts, science and technology, medicine, etc.
Potential for tangible benefit / impact to society (How could your work change our world?)
High novelty (Has anyone done this before?)
Presentations with visual interest and impact (engaging, high-touch demos, diagrams, etc.)
Progress turning idea into a tangible product, service, or organizational model
Enthusiasm of innovator (and/or team) to introduce their work to students and parents at USC!QUESTIONS? Contact Elisa Wiefel (213-821-6063, wiefel@usc.edu)Location: Trojan Residence Hall (TRO) - USDALE PARKWAY

Viterbi School of Engineering Student Organizations

Viterbi's Got Talent is a talent show specifically designed to highlight the (possibly hidden) talents of our own Viterbi undergrad engineers. The event will be on Thursday, October 25th at 6:00pm in the E-Quad and will feature many different kinds of acts, from the insanely funny comics to the best musicians strutting their stuff. If you have a talent, be sure to pick up an application in RTH 110 to apply for a spot in this year's show. You don't have to be a musical superstar or a juggling guru to be eligible--we encourage all types of acts! Spots fill up quickly, so be sure to pick up an application now!Last year, we had about 300 people show up at the event and about 20 acts. If you're not one for the stage, and prefer to sit back and enjoy the entertainment, we will be providing carnival-themed snacks such as cotton candy, snow cones, and nachos.Make sure you join the Viterbi's Got Talent facebook group (http://usc.facebook.com/event.php?eid=6168224465&ref=mf) to stay up-to-date with the news about this year's talent show.
