Internet Pioneer Vinton Cerf To Discuss Whats Ahead for the Internet

Internet pioneer Vinton Cerf, often called the father of the Internet, will give a keynote address to University of Southern California engineering and computer science students at a campus open house to be held Oct. 14 from 5 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Cerf's address - "The Internet: A New Fabric for the Support of Rich Media Distribution and Interaction" - will discuss new transmission media likely to be adapted to the Internet as the worldwide communications network expands. His talk begins at 6 p.m. in the Gerontology Building Auditorium.Students are invited to an open house preceding the event, which will include Internet immersive and haptics technology demonstrations and opportunities to talk with USC computer science faculty. The open house is being held at 5 p.m. in the Integrated Media Systems Center, EEB-131.
