Epsein Department of Industrial and Systems Engineering EventThe USC Health Management & Policy Program is pleased to invite all USC students and faculty to the following executive presentation:KEITH WILSON, MD, FACOG, CHAIRMAN, PRESIDENT & CEO, TALBERT MEDICAL GROUPFRIDAYOCTOBER 6TH, 10:00 A.M-NoonRalph & Goldy Lewis Hall (RGL) 219Prof. Thomas Collins has agreed to open this lecture in his class PPD608: Leadership Symposium in Health Management and Policy, the SPPD and university community. This class is designed to provide a forum for leading healthcare executives and policymakers to address ways in which they and their organizations seek to improve the healthcare financing and delivery system in the U.S. and internationally. The course faculty/executive will rotate from term to term, which will provide students with unparalleled access to public, private and non-profit sector leaders, including industry executives, financiers, purchasers, accrediting agencies, foundations, state and federal government policymakers. Discussion will center on initiatives that address contemporary problems of the healthcare system, and the attendant leadership challenges and complexities. The course will explore practical and policy pros and cons around an issue of major impact. Faculty/executive lectures will be complemented with advance readings and post-presentation discussion and debate. SPEAKER BIO: Keith Wilson, MD serves as chairman, president and CEO of Talbert Medical Group, an independent, physician-owned primary care and multi-specialty medical practice of approximately 200 physicians based in Costa Mesa. A surgeon and diplomate of the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology, Dr. Wilson has been with Talbert since 1996, having previously served as chief of obstetrics/gynecology and perinatal services at FHP Hospital in Fountain Valley. Dr. Wilson is affiliated with numerous hospitals and professional groups and in 2001 received the American College of Physician Executives/Modern Healthcare Physician Executive National Award of Excellence. He is a graduate of and did his internship at Howard University College of Medicine, and his residency at Martin Luther King/Drew Hospital. Dr. Wilson earned a BS in chemistry/chemical engineering from USC.
