  • USC MEGA Student Speaker Series

Thomas Lord Department of Computer Science

    Student Activity

Next up in MEGA's Student Speaker Series is Sheehan Ahmed with Left On Read and the European Bug! Watch the live presentation on Zoom this Friday, September 18 at 5:00 PM PST to learn about Ahmed's experience as an engineer working on Left On Read, a choice-driven narrative platformer where you play as a college freshman texting your crush. During the creation of Left On Read, Ahmed and his team discovered a bug that only affected European players, leaving them hardstuck at the beginning of the game.

Sheehan Ahmed is currently a sophomore at USC pursuing a degree in Interactive Media and Games. Released in May 2020 and with over 200,000 downloads, Left On Read is a quarantine-inspired game about the harsh realities of modern-age communication. Join us this Friday as we talk all about game programming and unravel the mystery behind the European bug! Have any questions for Sheehan? Stick around after the presentation for a quick Q&A session!

    Trivia and Zoom Social
Come join us on Friday (September 18) at 5pm PDT for our first social event of the year! With everything being online, we know how hard it's been to meet other students. We'll be playing trivia with 3-4 people per group so it'll be a great way to meet other students in your major or someone with a common interest. Join us for ~fun!~ trivia, a nice introduction to what Girls in Tech is about, and a good music sesh. A little birdie also told me there may be a prize!

    When: September 18 - 5pm PDT
    Where: Via Zoom (bit.ly/meet-git)

Please RSVP by Thursday 11:59pm PDT at http://bit.ly/social-git

    Hope to see you there!
